A Castle Garden Wedding: A Styled Editorial
Marble stairs, white roses, and a bride in lace: a styled editorial in a castle garden, featuring a clay flower crown, flower girl pieces, and the pink satin purse.

An editorial, honestly labeled
This journal's Real Weddings pages will hold my couples' true celebrations as they share them. This entry is something a little different, and I want to be plain about it: a styled editorial. A day imagined and photographed to show how the pieces live, in a castle garden that looks like it was built for them.
Think of it as the dream board, made visible.
The setting
A stone castle above a rose garden: marble stairs curving past classical statues, a fountain at the center, hedges trimmed into green geometry, and white roses everywhere the eye lands. The bride wears embroidered lace and carries the blush satin purse with its pearl handle. The softest pink against all that white and green.
The little ones
The flower girl wears a crown of white clay blossoms: handmade, petal by petal, light enough for a small head and sturdy enough for a long day of being adorable. In my favorite frame, the bride kneels between two flower girls in the rose arch, adjusting a crown. It is the moment every real wedding has, too: the quiet one, in the middle of the garden, before the music starts.
And down the petal-strewn aisle, a small hand carries the little pink purse, made at exactly her scale, because the smallest member of the party deserves the real thing, not a toy version.
The pieces in this story
- Clay flower crowns for the flower girls, from my hair flowers and crowns
- The satin purse in blush pink, for bride and flower girl alike. The atelier this studio grew into, Ivory & Bloom
- Fresh-styled gardens of white roses, imagined here as the setting a clay bouquet never has to compete with, because unlike the garden, it is still perfect at the end of the day, and at the end of the decade
